Speaker Tyler Praises Liberia’s Media

Speaker of the House of Representatives Alexander J. Tyler during the formal opening of the 4th session of the 53rd Legislature praised members of the Liberia media including the mother unit ( Press Union of Liberia) for the cordial working relation exhibited during the last Legislative sessions. Speaker Tyler during his opening remarks cautioned Liberian Journalists to continuously uphold the principle of good journalism for the sustenance of Liberia’s Democracy. The Speaker statement of praise comes in the wake of what herefers to the high level of professionalism the media has shown.

The Bomi County Lawmaker maintains that a trained and respectful press, adding that the press plays a very crucial role in the promotion of democracy.

The Speaker used the occasion to thank Liberians for the smooth conduct and participation of the just ended special senatorial elections in the 15 sub-political divisions. He said even though the results do not go in favor of many as expected, but we must accept the results and work together to move the country forward. He also commended National Elections Commission, Political Party candidates as well as Independent Candidates for the high degree of maturity demonstrated during the election exercise.
