The embattled Chairman of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), Mr. George Solo has suspended the party three senior officials of the CDC. Those suspended include the CDC Vice Chairman for Operations, Mr. Mulbah K. Morlu, Youth League Chairman, Mr. Jefferson T. Koijee and Deputy Secretary General for Administration, Mr. Samora P.Z. Wollokollie.

In his statement, the CDC Charles, Solo said the three officials are suspended for time indefinite while at the same should expected to submit to the special investigative committee.

According to him, a six man special investigative panel headed by Executive Committee member Mike Doryen will probe the three suspended officials. According to a press release issued in Monrovia, August 27, 2014, the embattled chairman warned all members of the National Executive Committee (EC) to desist from the party’s leadership disruption.

Solo stated: “Recently, some members of the CDC’s EC refused to reconcile internal differences, and chosen a continuous disrespect, dishonors, and to violate the constitution of the party.”

The Chairman has also suspended all political activities of the Congress for Democratic change and has asked all partisans to refrain from party activities related to gatherings as per health regulations and the state emergency until such time that the National executive committee shall convene with the National Chairman as chair as per the constitution of the congress for democratic change.

The statement further stated that in keeping with the constitution of the CDC; Chapter 1, Rule 1 state: "All members, without exception, must abide by the Constitution of the CDC, the Bylaws, the Standing Orders, Rules and Regulations and Codes of Conduct as adopted or amended from time to time."

“The key phrase is that “"All members, without exception, must abide by the CDC’s Bylaws and Constitution.” The law is clear that no one “without exception", even if a majority of the EC, does not have the right to violate the constitution,” the Solo Statement added.

The chairman points out that several violations which continue to be exhibited in the party, against the constitution some of which he said include Unauthorized Statement, indicating that Article 5 Sec. 49 Duties/obligations of every member of the CDC states that to: “Refrain from publishing and/or distributing any media on the CDC without prior authorization which purports to be the view of any organized grouping, body, organ, or structure within the CDC.”

But Mr. Mulbah Morlu, one of those suspended by the embattled chairman described news about his suspension as a mere joke. Morlu said told FrontPageAfrica that he does not want to give credence to what he described as gossip because according to him Solo himself should be prepared to turn himself in for investigation by the Executive committee.

Recently the CDC issued a statement declaring that Solo has been suspected as Chairman of the party. In a statement, the CDC indicated “whereas, it has been established that Mr. George G. Solo being a promoter, expediter, and lobbyist for the Robert Sirleaf-for-Senate campaigns, against the people-voted candidacy of Mr. George Weah, has settled down for financial rewards ill-disposed to his functions, and is on provable and unarguable voice audios and other records testifying to a willful, criminal, and unconstitutional resolve to prevent the CDC’s electoral participation in Montserrado County”.

The party stated that following a National Executive Committee Meeting it resolved to cast a vote of no confidence in Solo and remove him as Chairman of the party.
